Quando si accenna al famigerato "odore di gatto", si intende l'odore della lettiera che si spande inevitabilmente per casa. Accentuato dal clima caldo in estate e dalle finestre chiuse in inverno. Un odore che persiste e proviene dalle molecole di ammoniaca contenute nella pipì di micio.
Le lettiere minerali sono spesso "profumate" con fragranze naturali e non, ma non si tratta di un metodo efficace e, inoltre, questa aggiunta può risultare dannosa se si hanno gatti sensibili, con patologie oppure se in casa ci sono umani allergici. Senza contare il fatto di quanto sia dannosa una lettiera minerale per la salute di micio e per l'ambiente. Insomma, non si ottiene un risultato, si inquina e si rischia anche a livello di salute e benessere dell'animale (ci si riempie anche casa di sacchi di lettiera usata - rifiuti solidi- e si è costretti a sostituire spesso tutta la lettiera perché permane la puzza).
Con Greencat questo non accade.
