Prendere la lettiera minerale usata e doverla cambiare (in grande quantità, se non addirittura sostituirla interamente e spesso), infilarla in un sacco e buttarla nell'indifferenziato (dove tutto ciò non ha un costo aggiuntivo da parte dell'amministrazione comunale in epoca di no waste).
Questa azione ha un peso enorme sull'ambiente, ma anche sul portafogli. Inoltre, in alcuni piccoli centri, significa tenersi sacchi di lettiera usata per casa. Analizziamo insieme il percorso di una lettiera minerale. A monte c'è già una devastazione ambientale perché vengono scavate montagne. Si ottiene quindi una lettiera che non è salubre per micio (e nemmeno per te): le polveri minerali, infatti, possono scatenare problemi respiratori anche seri sia negli animali sia negli umani. Senza contare che vengono sparse per casa e che, soprattutto in caso di cuccioli, possono venire "assaggiate" e ciò comporta problematiche non da poco per la salute del gatto con problemi a livello intestinale.
Inoltre, la lettiera usata diventa un rifiuto che va a soffocare il pianeta, riempiendo le discariche e mettendoci un tempo infinito a essere smaltito.
