È estate e fa caldo: anche micio deve idratarsi, e non poco. Soprattutto se è un gatto anziano che, come gli umani anziani, tende a bere meno di quanto dovrebbe.
Ma proprio in questo caldo periodo dell'anno è possibile che micio decida di non bere, che lasci la ciotola dell'acqua piena e si giri con sprezzo dall'altra parte. Perché lo fa? Ci possono essere diversi motivi, dalle cause fisiche a quelle ambientali. Può essere che micio stia soffrendo di una qualche patologia a livello urinario e renale, per esempio. Oppure che sia semplicemente stressato. In ogni caso, è importante "indagare" e sentire il veterinario.
Il gatto può non bere perché si sente stressato. Magari ha traslocato di recente oppure è stato sottoposto a un cambiamento in famiglia. In questi casi, è importante distribuire ciotole di acqua (sempre fresca, da sostituire con frequenza) in diversi punti della casa ma lontani da rumori e dal passaggio di umani o di altri animali domestici. Meglio se posizionate in un angolo chiuso, in cui micio non possa essere sorpreso.
